As many of you know, the Humphreys have sold the business to a lovely couple named Jacquie and Bruno. They are opening Saturday March 4th as the new owners of the Glen Oven Café and are a wonderful addition to continue the bakery in the heart of Glen Williams.
Jenny Humphreys has written a thank-you/goodbye note that is posted on the café door but she also asked to have it posted here, on the Glen Williams Community Association website, as a final goodbye. If you are free on Saturday March 4th, stop by the bakery and introduce yourselves to Jacqui and Bruno – they are looking forward to meeting you all.
Dear Glen Oven Cafe Customers,
Almost 9 years ago I had a dream to open a Tea Room in England, as luck would have it I was able to buy the Glen Oven Cafe in Glen Williams in 2008 and run the business for 8 years. The Glen Oven Cafe has literally been my home for this time. As my last few days here draw to an end, it is with a heavy heart but also with many happy memories of the business and life we have built here.
The Glen Williams Village and community is like no other. We will be forever grateful for the local support and kindness we experienced during our time here.
I would like to thank all of our loyal and supportive customers that we have had the pleasure of serving these past 8 years. Our goal was to offer great food with friendly service and a charming atmosphere that people could enjoy with their family and friends. We hope that we have provided that for you over the years and we thank you for all your wonderful and kind comments to support us along the way.
A big thank you to all my current staff and previous employees whom I could not have managed without. Thank you to Doug, Kathy, Liddy and Cassy who guided me from the beginning.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to my family and friends for all their help in many different forms over the years. This was truly a family run business.Thank you to my husband Steve for helping to build the business and for always listening and being so understanding. To my Mum and Sister Holly for always being there and providing unconditional support. And finally to my Dad, my inspiration for starting a business of my own, for always being positive and for providing me with an opportunity to fulfill a dream.
We wish the new owners great success and look forward to seeing the Glen Oven Cafe continue to thrive in the heart of Glen Williams.
All the very best,
Jenny Humphreys
