When written and approved in 2005, the Glen Williams Secondary Plan identified 5 future subdivision developments for the hamlet. The first new development was Meadows in the Glen by Intracorp. The second development, Creditview Heights by Eden Oak, is awaiting approval by the OMB. Three more developments are currently being planned for Glen Williams.
Public Engagement in the Process
Glen residents need to further educate themselves to better understand how the development process works in the Town of Halton Hills. The GWCA has encouraged the Town to improve its public engagement process. Both knowledge and active engagement will be key to shaping the design and construction of new neighbourhoods that retain the look, feel and function of our rural hamlet.
Start Early, Stay Vigilant
The GWCA is hosting a “Lessons Learned” Community Meeting on Wed. April 26 @ 7:00pm in the Glen Williams Town Hall. The recent challenges with Eden Oak, the Town and the OMB have shown us that neighbourhoods facing subdivision applications have to start early and stay vigilant.
The first part of the meeting will provide information on “lessons learned” over 7 years of dealing with the Eden Oak Creditview Heights file.
The second half of the meeting will allow neighbours to meet in table groups to familiarize themselves with the future developments planned for specific neighbourhoods.
