An Award Winning Canadian oil painter with a background in advertising and design Shelley has devoted the past 20 years capturing the landscape on canvas. Traveling across Canada with her focus on landscape painting, Shelley is captivated by rock formations and the processes through the epochs that have formed them. Intrigued by shorelines, cliffs, forests, lakes, and rivers Shelley is compelled to paint them and create her own representation of Canada’s natural spaces.
As often as she can Shelley paints ‘en plein air’ (outdoors) but is primarily a studio artist. She has been recognized as an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian Artists; she is an Executive member of the Colour and Form Society and has recently been the Artist in Residence at the Red Door Gallery in Georgetown Ontario.
Visit Shelley in her new studio in the Stone Building at Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre to see shimmering lakes, tumbling rivers or quiet woodlands beautifully on display.
